Add files or folders to different locations

A Google Drive feature allows you to add the same file or folder to multiple folders in Google Drive without copying it.

This Google Drive feature is limited when files are managed by AODocs:
- You can't add a file or folder to more than one location in AODocs, whether in the same library or in different ones.
- You can store a file or folder in only one AODocs Folder and any Google Drive folders you want.

There are three methods to add a file or folder into another location:


  1. Select your file or folder.
  2. Press and hold Shift+Z.
  3. Choose your destination folder.
  4. Press the Add here button.



Right-click > Move + Ctrl key

  1. Right-click your file or folder.
  2. Select Move to.
  3. Press and hold the Ctrl key.
  4. Choose your destination folder.
  5. Press the Add here button.

Drag + Ctrl key + Drop

  1. Drag your file or folder.
  2. Press and hold the Ctrl key.
  3. Drop it into your destination folder.

Note: Adding a file or folder to another location is different from:
- Moving a file or folder: this removes the file or folder from the initial location (right-click + Move to or just drag and drop)
- Copy/pasting a file or folder: this creates another file or folder, similar to the initial one (right-click + Make a copy)
