Pre-Release Announcement: AODocs V44

Dear AODocs Users,

We’re preparing the launch of AODocs version 44 planned for end of July 2017!

Please find the list of changes and features that will change the end-user and administrator experience.

This post is a preliminary, non-exhaustive list of the features launching with AODocs version 44. The actual features and updates in the final release may differ from the ones listed below. Subscribe to our Announcement List to receive our Release Note.

New Features

Redesign of the publication workflow

We have entirely redesigned the way check-out/check-in and version control are integrated in workflows. With the new publication workflow, you will be able to:

  • create different types of workflow states: Standard and Draft
  • trigger a check-out/check-in or a new version through workflow transitions
  • better manage permissions, notifications and customizations

Note:  Before version 44, check-out/check-in and version control is configured in the Version menu of each workflow state. The Version menu on each workflow state will be deprecated progressively in the next two releases. Library administrators using the publication workflow will therefore need to reconfigure their publication workflow. Library administrators can request assistance from the AODocs support team.

Restore folder

Trashing a folder moves the folder and the documents in the folder to the AODocs trash called Deleted documents.

You can restore a part or the whole folder structure from the AODocs trash.

Improvements

Visual improvements in the document editor

The document editor will display information banners to help you distinguish which version of your document you are looking at: a draft version of a checked-out document, a current version of a checked-out document or a previous document.

The document title and edit button have been relocated - contributors will be able to rename the AODocs document directly in the document editor.

Warning banners will also be displayed when some actions are not available.
